This course deals with the Study of Weather and Climate, the classification of climate for various zones, the influence of climate in building design, Tropical climate, Orientation and the Environmental factors affecting building design. Analysis of thermal and visual environment will also be studied including but not limited to Heat gain and heat loss phenomenon in buildings, Thermal performance parameters, Role of building enclosures, openings and materials in thermal environment, Basic principles of light and daylight and Energy efficient light design of buildings. Daylight design of buildings will also be mentioned in detail.
