This unit introduces students to basic photography and photojournalism skills, which are the collecting, editing, and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast. Images are objectively created through photography in order to tell a news story. It is a powerful way to document events and convey information in a way that words alone cannot. A journalist will use their pen and paper to tell stories, a photojournalist will use their camera to capture the visual representation of a story. Photojournalists face lots challenges in their line of duty, and have educated millions of people on various social injustices that happen around the world.
