Poetry is one of the compulsory subjects offered to literature students. This course facilitates students to explore and critically understand the theoretical concepts of literary works, aspects of social life and universal values that can be used as life lessons, as well as guidelines in fostering a sense of empathy. Through this course, students learn to apply critical, systematic, innovative thinking in the analysis of literary works in the form of poetry. Poetry is a beautiful work that is used to convey the feelings of the author using creative forms and ways by using literary devices such as alliteration, rhyme, meter, metaphor, simile, and much more.

The learning in this course allows students to write down unspeakable feelings in a way that is safe, elegant, classy, and has artistic value. Students will of course learn to enrich their vocabulary and practically use it in unusual and unique contexts and forms of writing. Students will learn to enjoy reading and writing which will then enable students to broaden their knowledge of vocabulary and structure and to become more proficient in the four language skills.
