In the past, we have seen the importance of social innovation along with the changing perception towards it. Post COVID social innovation is getting a major boost from stakeholders old and new. This course will introduce strategies and processes of social innovation and social change. The course will also help gain knowledge on strategies of change that include innovative activities of social entrepreneurs, organizations and social movements. The course will also focus on creating societal impact through social innovation. Further, we will examine social innovation through case studies, discuss examples of social innovation and the process of establishing venture to address social issues and analyze best practices. We will also work on frameworks to identify opportunities and turn an idea into a socially viable business model. We will begin by understanding the concept of social innovation and why it is important in today’s world both theoretically and practically. Then after, we will emphasize the strategic perspective on social change and innovation. Further we will look at the larger dynamics of social innovation, i.e. learn to scale up high – impact innovations.
